Vegas, Baby! Yeah!

October 09, 2008

Next week, Brwyn, Randy, Ren and I are off to Las Vegas to attend the Direct Marketing Association International ECHO Awards Ceremony. Why? To see the animatronic wonder that is Cher? But of course. And also because Farstar is a finalist in the Business and Consumer Services/Business-to-Business category for our Hit the Moving Target campaign for Coupons, Inc.

While in Vegas, we'll be wined and dined by the DMA; attending happy hours, parties and receptions; and hanging out with Jay Leno. (He’s the featured entertainer at the awards ceremony; actual hanging out may necessitate the use of chloroform.) Ultimately, we hope to be recognized for creating great work that worked great.

I am so proud of the team for their work on this campaign. Each year, the ECHO Awards honor the world’s best direct marketing campaigns – campaigns that go the extra mile to incorporate unique, innovative and eye-catching ideas. Our work was judged against at least 1,000 other entries from across the United States, as well as the UK, Brazil, Sweden, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Denmark, Scotland, Finland, Norway, Portugal, Hungary, Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia. (Apparently the French were too busy at mime practice to enter.)

Farstar’s recognition as a finalist in this competition showcases our work on a global scale, and we are so excited to be honored in such an esteemed group.

Almost as excited as we are to see Cher.
