Brian Vander Ark Digs the Farstar

This story begins with a little history in case you need it. Brian Vander Ark of The Verve Pipe has become a friend of the Farstarians. He came and played for us in August 2007 for the first time, which I wrote about prior to the show and after.
After his visit, I decided I wanted to be an ally of anyone who was effectively re-defining the rules in the music industry like he was. After all, that’s the Farstar "We Don’t Play Fair" way – make your own rules. So I told Brian that we’d love to help create his new site, which recently went live.
It’s pretty cool, if I can offer a slightly biased opinion. The site has a super-slick back end that is completely accessible through a Flex interface in a browser, so Brian can manage it from the road. He can post blog entries, add new songs he’s just recorded, add or change tour date info – you name it and he can do it. His changes just show up in the Flash site automatically. He seemed to like it, as evidenced by his second show at Farstar last April which he did in appreciation for our work.
While he was here, we roped him into providing a testimonial for us (you might need to install Quicktime if it doesn’t show up for you):
We hope Brian will continue to not play fair, redefine the rules and keep making great music. And we hope he comes back year after year to hang out.
You won't meet a nicer dude who "used to be a big star, depending on who you ask."
