Meet Victoria

I graduated from the University of North Texas in 2004 with a degree in BCIS (Business Computer Information Systems). Spending my last couple of semesters coding COBOL on the mainframe had left me reconsidering my career path; and, after graduating, I still had no idea what I wanted to be when I grew up. So, my now-fiancé and I decided to experience life outside of Texas and head to Los Angeles and figure it all out. With a few bucks in our pockets, no jobs and no place to live, we headed to the West Coast where I figured I would get a bartending gig and maybe try out real estate (it sounded good at the time). After a few lame sales jobs, I landed a job as a junior developer at a leading interactive agency. It was there I found my home in the Flash world. I love that I can use code to create rich, interactive experiences (pretty things). I spent the next couple of years learning Actionscript and anything I could about the Flash platform. After tiring of the jet set L.A. lifestyle, we moved back to Texas and I joined the cast of Farstar in the summer of 2007 as a Flex/Flash developer.

Random facts about me:

  • I have the coolest Boston terrier named Tito. He has a Puerto Rican accent.
  • I love to cook.
  • I have a newfound interest in yoga.
  • I love doing anything outdoors.
  • I'm learning to sew.
  • I'm the middle child of five
  • I hope to one day have a bunch of kids and live on a small farm. With a chicken.

Vic, as we call her, is half artiste, half programmer and half carny. That's right. Vic has three halves. And one of them makes a mean funnel cake. But when she's not deep-frying Twinkies, Vic makes sure all of our sweet Flash animations speak politely with our back-end processes.
