Meet Mike
October 01, 2007
Posted by Kevin Lofgren.
Today we are adding a most valuable addition to the Farstar team. Please welcome Mike Reyher. Below is his official bio, for those who like such things. But speaking informally, we are so pumped to have him on board. He has been a dominant influence in our culture and philosophies without physically being here due to the fact that he was a mentor of mine long before Farstar came to be. It is rather serendipitous to have him "come home" to Farstar. Our clients and our employees are going to enjoy more benefits from his arrival than they could possibly know.
And now, the official words:
After a 20-year career building dynamic companies with specifically architected high-tech teams, Mike Reyher brings his passion for business technology to Farstar. Now focused on unleashing Farstar's great potential, Reyher is creating winning business teams and successful high-tech marketing solutions for the company.
While attending Kansas State University, Reyher began his career in technology by selling and repairing computers for local shops. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in information systems, he sold new phone systems to local Dallas businesses before starting a career with Soft Warehouse leading its new computer assembly operation. Reyher moved into executive roles as Soft Warehouse became CompUSA. As vice president of merchandising, he was responsible for key relationships with Dell, Apple and Intel as CompUSA grew toward a successful public offering in 1992.
In 1995, Reyher's experience at CompUSA led him to invest in a local IBM business partner, Workflow Designs. He directed the company's suite of service offerings providing Internet strategy and application development to local enterprise customers. It was at Workflow Designs that Mike Reyher first recruited Kevin Lofgren, now Founder and Chief Executive of Farstar, to enhance the user experience of Workflow Designs' clients' applications.
After the successful sale of Workflow, Reyher, along with a former client and Yahoo! executive, co-founded Stick Networks, a next-generation wireless platform developer. He joined DataStarUSA in 2002 as chief information officer to guide their e-business strategies and later served as vice president of sales and marketing.
Reyher, a Dallas resident, is a father of two and enjoys endurance mountain-bike racing.
Welcome home, Mike. So glad you finally made it here.
